Renewable Energy Sources Act
The Renewable Energy Act (EEG) is Germany’s central law for promoting the expansion of renewable energies such as solar, wind, and biomass plants. It regulates, among other things, remuneration systems, tendering procedures, and feed-in conditions. The goal is to continuously increase the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix to at least 80 % by 2030.
For the building sector, the EEG provides important incentives for expanding photovoltaics, particularly on the rooftops of commercial, office, and residential buildings. It establishes clear economic conditions for self-consumption and for innovative models such as tenant electricity.
aedifion supports the integration of renewable energies into the electricity mix of commercial buildings by intelligently connecting photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, battery storage, and HVAC systems. Energy consumption from the grid or self-generation is flexibly adjusted to the current electricity price through load shifting.
